Keith Martin and
daughter Alex, in LA, with a Lamborghni Gallardo!
Keith Martin, owner and editor of Keith Martins Sports Car Market and his daughter do up her birthday weekend right.
It all started when he asked his daughter what she wanted for her 16th birthday, her response was immediate. "I'd like to fly to L.A., stay at a neat hotel, drive around in a Gallardo Spyder, see the Leno Show, shop on Rodeo Drive, cruise up the PCH and eat in Santa Monica."
For four days Keith and Alex played the role of Lamborghini owner and daughter in L.A.

Message from General Manager
Matt Crandall
Seasons Greetings
Well with the Holiday season upon us we are all thinking about our plans for next year. Here at GPI we are really excited about 2008. With the addition of Lamborghini and the opening of our new Lamborghini Portland showroom in the first couple months of the year we all have a lot to look forward to. Our first several orders have been submitted and our first Lamborghini customers are very excited to see the "other Italian". If you have stopped by, we currently have changed the showroom around to accommodate the remodel of the new showroom; this should be really exciting to see its progression.
Also, this time of year is when all of us gear heads start thinking about our next project or finishing the one we started last year. Why not take the time to come by and talk to our experts in our service and parts department to find out how to get the most bang for your buck. Along with GPI building several project cars, we can help with supplying the parts for yours. We are the exclusive dealer in the area for most aftermarket brands and have access to all product lines for all cars.
Myself and all the staff at GPI wish you the best for the Holidays and look forward to a Exciting 2008!
Matt

A lot of changes are taking place here at Gran Prix Imports. With Lamborghini Portland becoming our flagship brand we are currently remodeling our new car showroom into the northwest's premier exotic showroom. A demolition that has literally started from the ground up will soon reveal a completely new look that is solely dedicated to the display of these amazing machines. Every member of the team here at GPI is very excited to finally have the Lamborghini flag flying next to the Gran Prix Imports name. And we want to share that excitement with you. During this remodel you will still be able to visit GPI and view and experience all of our other makes and models in our inventory. We will be open during this construction going on in the other showroom. With a new year right around the corner and a new look for Gran Prix Imports we hope to see you soon so we can make 2008 our best year yet.

As told by Ferruccio Lamborghini's son, Ferruccio Lamborghini went to meet Enzo Ferrari at the Ferrari factory to complain about the quality of the clutch in the Ferrari 250 GT he owned. Enzo Ferrari sent him away telling him to go and drive tractors because he was not able to drive cars. Lamborghini went back to his factory, had his Ferrari's clutch dismantled and realized that the clutch manufacturer was the same who supplied the clutches for his tractors. In his warehouse he found a spare part which he thought suitable, and when it was installed the problem was solved. Furious with what he considered to be Enzo Ferrari's arrogant and aloof treatment Ferrucio Lamborghini promised himself never to go back to Ferrari for another car but rather beat him at his own game by creating a superior sports car. Thus the idea of a Lamborghini sports car was born. According to a renowned auto analyst, Lamborghini is often considered the most elite among sports car.
Ferruccio decided that his car was to have a V12 engine, and enlisted the services of talented engineer Giotto Bizzarrini, who had previously worked on a Ferrari V12. The new engine had 4 cams, a short stroke and 2 big bore valves per cylinder, and developed a surprising 350 horsepower (260 kW). The engine featured aluminum construction, with a crankshaft supported by seven main bearings, forged aluminum pistons, and camshafts with their own half-engine-speed sprocket and silent chain. The car the engine was mounted in was designed by Franco Scaglione's Scaglione-Touring.
This Lamborghini 350GTV prototype began making public appearances in 1963, starting with the Turin Auto Show. Sales of the production model, known as the 350GT, began the following year with great success, with over 130 examples sold. Born under the sign of the Taurus, Ferruccio Lamborghini used the bull as the badge by which to mark his new automobile.
